Applying and use of ‘Software’ in manufacturing Industry

When I was sited at my room suddenly I got a subject for writing a ‘Blog’ use of software in manufacturing.

I have seen three software in manufacturing and trading industries (1) Odoo (2) Microsoft dynamics ERP (3) SAP

I am going to start with ‘Odoo’ where I help to ‘Odoo’ consultant for design of ‘Quality Control’ part.‘Odoo’ is not only limited to one area or one department of an enterprise but whole enterprise. In this user need to enter data online so that it could be seen by other user that help to avoid physical activities and communication. For ‘Quality Control’ I suggest Odoo consultant that create web page is like that Where mentioned PI number, shipment numbers, shipping date, online /final inspection date, suppliers name  and pass/fail option and upload ‘Inspection report’.As I entered or clicked pass/fail option, it can be easily view by purchasing team’s part of Odoo’ and after that purchasing team start processing for shipping of ‘goods’ and start arranging documents, documents like Containers details, billing documents, packing slip,Inspection reports etc. ‘Supply chain’ team check his side of ‘Odoo’  after ‘Quality Control’ for clearing and issuances of documents to purchase team.Same ‘Odoo’ is fully functional and used by Sales department,A/C & finance team,Warehouse and even at HR.How much stocks of goods are available in ware house, how much quantity of goods are available in market for sales, when placed order and to which suppliers,Status and tracking of shipments etc.

A/C and Finance maintain data of salary of employee, expenses of company etc..

HR maintain information of employee, payroll ,vacations, leave etc in ‘Odoo’.

Now I am going to talk about ‘ERP’ and ‘SAP’.

I worked with ‘ERP’ as a ‘Receiving Inspection Engineer’ where I can download ‘BOM’ of a Product and insert into excel . There’s option to insert any file into excel. No need for copy paste.

As any lot receive from supplier Warehouse upload details with PO number, Packing Slip number,Supplier name, received date of lot with quantity of material of a lot. As date entered by warehouse those data become visual to QC receiving’s part of ERP.

Now there’s option for QCR Engineer within three days

Result Either fail or pass has to declare in ERP software

After checking raw materials now QCR Engineer click in software either pass or fail.

If there’s any lot rejected QCR Engineer click fail in front of that lot most important what activities I am doing in ‘ERP’ appears with ‘employee code’.

When there’s ‘fail or rejection’ now I have to shift rejected quantity from ‘good warehouse’ to rejection warehouse’ in ERP. This help every department to see it their part of ‘ERP’ that’s avoid mail, phone call and physical appearance.

When there’s alternate sample evaluations of new supplier, it’s data has to mention in ERP with this information that Sample name, it’s supplier, sample evaluations date...etc.

I have seen in India many manufacturing industry is using ‘SAP’. SAP has same features like above mentioned software.

In ‘SAP’ a new part has to create, ‘BOM’ can  create and update. Reservation of materials and goods can done here.

Even in ‘SAP’ OSD has to mentioned. But from ‘ERP’ and ‘SAP’ there’s difference in downloading and insert into excel file.In ‘SAP’ ,copy file from there and paste into excel but in ‘ERP’ directly insert file from there and save it at a desktop.
